The benefits of a daily meditation practice have been documented and include gaining a new perspective on stressful situations, building skills to manage your stress, and increasing self-awareness to name a few. However, one of the main challenges to a daily meditation practice is motivation and support. Like most forms of practice, it requires daily engagement to relax. For 5 weeks, Andrew Jovanovic, LPC, CYT
will be leading 5 body scan meditation practice classes. He will introduce you to Mindfulness/Meditation, the practice of the Body Scan Meditation, guide you through some of the typical obstacles to meditation, and help explore some of the attitudinal qualities of a Mindfulness/Meditation practice. No experience is needed, experienced and beginners alike are welcomed.
- Five weekly mindfulness classes that introduce mindfulness concepts and attitudes with a specific focus on the body scan meditation
- Research shows that starting with short meditation sessions and building from that point lends to greater outcomes, so the first 3 classes will be 30 minutes, and the last 2 will be one hour
- Thursdays at 5pm from March 23 to April 20, 2023
