Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction Class

An online, weekly course for decreasing stress using evidence-based mindfulness techniques

This course is for you if:

  • You are experiencing symptoms of stress, tension, and anxiety which are getting in the way living the life you want to live.
  • You want to improve your overall health, well-being, and relationships with colleagues, family, and friends.
  • You are dealing with a difficult life transition or personal challenge and want to move forward with awareness towards what really matters.
  • You have chronic health condition and/or chronic pain and want to add complementary therapies to your current treatment plan to help you live the life you want.

What is MBSR?
Created by Jon Kabat-Zinn in 1979, this curriculum is informed by neuroscience, psychology, and educational methods that emphasize experiential, group, and discovery learning. Regarded, internationally, as the ‘gold standard’, the program will offer you the opportunity to develop a personalized mindfulness practice, with the support of a small-group setting over 8 weekly 2-hour sessions plus a retreat day. The curriculum has been widely researched and has demonstrated significant health benefits for people, both physically and psychologically including increased ability to feel in control, calm, and resilient, better physical health, reduced stress and anxiety, improved sleep and more empathetic relationships with family, friends, and colleagues.

In this course you will…

  • Learn new ways to handle body sensations, thoughts, and emotions.
  • Develop skills to help you take care of your well-being and manage stress and adversity.
  • Learn to respond to situations more mindfully in the present moment rather than mindlessly reacting.
  • Develop skills that make it easier to be with whatever you are experiencing, whether it is pleasant or unpleasant.
