Navigating Grief and Loneliness Together this Holiday Season

A five session online support group for adults coping with grief and loss issues and/or loneliness during the stress of the holiday season.

Are you feeling overwhelmed, sad, or empty as you anticipate going through the holiday season while also coping with a loss of some kind or dealing with a deep sense of isolation and loneliness? Rather than feeling cheerful and a sense of togetherness, are you feeling even more alone than ever in your grief and hurt?

You are not alone in feeling sad, worried, or overwhelmed. Unfortunately, society and especially social media though gives us the sense that everyone around us is filled with merriment and are going to endless parties where everyone and everything is perfect this time of year, and that if you don’t fit this that somehow something must be wrong with you. The truth is that this is typically a hard time of year for most of us and our lives don’t fit with the illusion of perfection that society portrays. If we are going through loss or chronic loneliness, this can make many feel even more despairing and that we don’t belong.

Navigating Grief and Loneliness Together this Holiday Season is a weekly, one hour, five session series running from December 7 through January 4. In this group, you will…

  • gain support and connection from others who are experiencing similar difficulties and feelings during this time of the year
  • learn how grief, loss and loneliness can affect us and why these challenges can feel particularly difficult during the holiday season
  • learn and practice specific evidence based coping strategies to help navigate through stress during holidays and in the year to come
