Amy Donovan is a Provisional Licensed Professional Counselor (PLPC) who works with teens and adults navigating anxiety, OCD, ADHD, and life transitions. She specializes in helping clients whose minds feel constantly “on”—those stuck in loops of overthinking, worry, and second-guessing. Amy works with teens facing school and social stress, as well as adults balancing relationships, parenting, career demands, and burnout. She understands how exhausting it can feel to live inside a busy, anxious mind and works to help clients feel more grounded, confident, and like themselves again.

Her work focuses on helping clients recognize and shift patterns such as rumination, people-pleasing, avoidance, and difficulty tolerating uncertainty. Together, they build practical skills for responding differently, so clients can step out of the same cycles and feel more in control of their lives. Amy’s approach is warm, collaborative, and tailored to each individual. She uses evidence-based therapies including CBT, ERP, and I-CBT, along with DBT-informed strategies for emotional regulation and distress tolerance.

She believes that feeling understood, supported, and gently challenged is a key part of meaningful change.

Before becoming a therapist, Amy worked in corporate communications and experienced perfectionism and imposter syndrome firsthand. She is also a mom of two, giving her a real-world understanding of the pressures many families carry.

Outside of session, she’s often on the sidelines at her kids’ games, iced Diet Coke in hand, or testing out fidgets “for clients.” She brings a grounded, relatable presence to her work—because therapy can be meaningful and still feel like a real conversation.

Amy accepts Aetna and Cigna insurance plans and is supervised by Josh Dunn, MA, Licensed Professional Counselor (MO #2019024985).
