Erin Magee, MSW, LMSW is a licensed master social worker with a bachelor’s degree in social work with a minor in psychology, as well as a master’s degree in social work, both from the University of Missouri – Saint Louis. She specializes in working with children and adolescents by using a strength-based perspective, in which she focuses on individual client’s strengths to help encourage positive growth and change. Erin has worked with many children in a variety of settings, such as the home and school environment. She operates based on the systems theory, knowing that each environment involved in a child’s life can bring about different stresses and anxiety. Erin has a great passion to help children in all aspects of their lives, and focuses on children’s social and emotional needs. She uses cognitive behavioral therapy, psychoeducation, play therapy, and art therapy to help children and adolescents through everyday stresses, anxiety, depression, ADHD, and behavior disorders.
Along with child and adolescent therapy, Erin also provides therapy for adults suffering from anxiety and depression through cognitive behavioral therapy and mindfulness.
Erin helps clients of all ages develop social and emotional skills and coping mechanisms through various methods based on the best fit for each client. She also specializes in group therapy to create a safe and meaningful space to assure clients that they are not alone, and allow for collaboration with peers while learning new tools for managing anxiety and/or depression.
Erin believes being active is a very important part of life that serves many benefits. She is a volunteer little league soccer coach, where she encourages little ones to be active in order to reduce stress and have fun.
