“In any given moment, we have two options: to step forward into growth or to step back into safety.”
Abraham Maslow

Lauren is a graduate student at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville earning her Master’s in Clinical Psychology. She received her Bachelor’s in Biochemistry from Lindenwood University. Lauren is in the practicum/intern stage of her Master’s program and will be under the supervision of Laura Chackes, Psy.D. With a background of studying and working in the medical field before making her transition to psychology and counseling, Lauren is passionate about the mind-body connection and using a whole-person approach towards healing. She also believes that knowledge is power when it comes to mental health and is an advocate for spreading mental health awareness. Her therapies of interest are CBT and ERP, but she wants to learn as much as she can during her internship to help guide her career.

Lauren is in her second year of graduate school at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville. She is interested in working with adults and older teens (16+) struggling with anxiety, OCD, BFRBs, depression, and other life concerns like role transitions, reparenting work, and finding purpose. She primarily uses a person-centered approach and CBT. Because she is an intern, Lauren does not directly charge for her services, and therefore the center is able to offer these services for a lower fee.
