You are imperfect, you are wired for struggle, but you are worthy of love and belonging
Brené Brown
Maria is a clinical mental health counseling graduate student at Lindenwood University. With a background as a trauma researcher, yoga teacher, and emotional intelligence writer, Maria weaves together evidence based techniques with individualized mindfulness prompts in her therapy work. Maria believes that the client possesses all they need to heal and thrive, and she believes her job is to help uncover that innate power. Because of this, she believes healing is a collaborative process and is eager to help clients identify and work on their self-identified goals. She uses a blend of Solution-Focused Therapy, Acceptance Commitment Therapy, and somatic awareness work to help clients nurture their own potential healing. Her areas of focus include perinatal mental health, trauma, emotional regulation, and mindfulness. Because she is an intern, Maria does not directly charge for her services, and therefore the center is able to offer these services for a lower fee.
