Meredith is passionate about helping clients realize their potential and live fulfilling and meaningful lives. She applies a strengths-based approach in her work, which entails building on her clients’ unique strengths, skills, and experiences. She believes highlighting abilities rather than deficits builds the therapeutic relationship and lays the foundation for tackling tough subject matter with confidence.
Beyond a strengths-based framework, Meredith incorporates other evidence-based treatments to help clients overcome challenges including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Positive Psychology, Solution-Focused Therapy, Mindfulness, Child-Centered Play Therapy, Sand Tray Work, Attachment-Based Therapy, and Trauma-Informed Care.
Meredith graduated with her Master of Social Work from Saint Louis University in 2011. She has 7 years of clinical experience working for local non-profits, such as Kids in the Middle, Saint Louis Public Schools, and Youth In Need. She is comfortable working with clients from age 2 to 100+ from diverse backgrounds and does not discriminate based on race, age, religion, ability, marital status, sexual orientation, sex or gender identity.
Meredith provides counseling for individuals and families experiencing a broad range of issues including:
- Anxiety (OCD, Specific Phobias, Separation Anxiety Disorder, Generalized Anxiety Disorder, PTSD, etc.)
- Bonding and attachment concerns
- Family conflict
- Behavioral Issues
- Grief & loss
- Social skills
- Emotional regulation
- Divorce/separation/blended families
- Life transitions
One of Meredith’s specialties is working with parents on finding the parenting strategies that work best for their children and family. There are a lot of differing theories on discipline and limit-setting, making it challenging for parents to determine what techniques to employ to support their children’s developing minds. Every child is unique and responds a little differently to parenting approaches. Meredith incorporates the latest scientific research in neuroscience and behavioral psychology to inform her recommendations and frequently draws from The Whole-Brain Child, No Drama Discipline, MATCH-ADTC, Love & Logic, and 1-2-3 Magic.
Meredith is currently accepting new clients and is in-network with Aetna, Anthem BCBS, Cigna, and United Healthcare. To make an appointment, please contact our Client Care Coordinator, Andrea Harpster, at 314-561-9757 ext. 718 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
