Couples, Multi-Partner, and Non-Traditional Relationships
Personal Growth and Exploration
To pay attention, this is our endless and proper work.
Sophie Pellegrini (she/her/hers), MSW, LMSW, is a Licensed Master of
Social Work. She received her Master’s degree from the Brown School at
Washington University in St. Louis and her Bachelor’s degree from Bates College
in Lewiston, Maine. Her background includes sexuality education, wilderness-
and adventure-therapy, oncology grief counseling, residential psychiatric
treatment, and visual arts. Sophie is proud to be a queer and neurodivergent
therapist and is passionate about providing affirming therapy to LGBTQIA+
clients and those exploring their identities. As a sex-positive sexuality educator,
Sophie specializes in providing therapy for those interested in exploring their
intimate relationships, sexuality, and sexual experience. Her practice is
LGBTQIA+ affirming, affirming of polyamory and consensual non-monogamy,
kink-aware, and sex-worker affirming. Sophie loves to work with open-minded
folks who are seeking personal growth and reflection.
Sophie’s approach to therapy is holistic, warm, trauma-informed, non-
pathologizing, and relational. She aims to create a space in which clients can
show up fully as themselves, and engages actively and collaboratively in
sessions. She believes that understanding the impacts of oppressive systems,
such as racism, homophobia, ableism, transphobia, and fat-phobia, is a critical
part of the therapy process. Sophie draws from a variety of psychotherapy
modalities and frameworks, including Polyvagal Theory, Cognitive Behavioral
Therapy, Mindfulness, Feminist Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy,
and Narrative Therapy. Because Sophie is provisionally licensed she is not able
to take insurance; however, she does offer a lower rate for her services. To schedule an appointment with Sophie, please contact our Client Care Coordinator, Andrea Harpster, at Andrea@mindfulstl.com or 314-561-9757.
