Stephanie Dickerson, MEd, LPC, NCC is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) originally from Sioux City, Iowa. She attended Northwest Missouri State University in Maryville, Missouri for a Bachelor of Arts degree double majoring in Psychology and Sociology. She then moved to St. Louis to attend the University of Missouri-St. Louis for her Master’s in Education in Counseling with an emphasis in marriage and family counseling. Stephanie spent her internship time at St. Anthony’s Medical Center in their behavioral health unit working with adolescents and adults in inpatient and outpatient care, which helped her hone her skills in teaching Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to a wide range of people and ages.
After graduation in 2013, she also obtained her national accreditation in counseling (NCC) and has since worked with adults at Comtrea, a non-profit agency working in holistic care in Jefferson County as well as at Youth In Need as a Child, Youth and Family Therapist working in high school settings. Working with many suffering with anxiety, depression, and ADHD symptoms led Stephanie to seeking helpful and tangible ways to help ease their churning minds, which is where she found Mindfulness and its’ benefits. She also has worked in the Rockwood School District with elementary-aged children and currently supports students in Francis Howell School District teaching Mindfulness skills to both staff and students alike. Stephanie utilizes CBT, Mindfulness, Solution-Focused Therapy, art and sand tray to help with a wide array of concerns including, but not limited to trauma, anxiety and related disorders, depression, suicidal ideations, ADHD, and social concerns.
