Colleen Matlock MA, LPC, is a Licensed Professional Counselor who specializes in the treatment of children with Autism, developmental delays, and social awkwardness from child to young adult. She treats co-occurring disorders such as anxiety, depression, and ADHD. She has done extensive work utilizing parent-coaching and consultation of children with Autism. She received her degree from Webster University in 2012. She had an internship at Youth Emergency Services working with homeless and at-risk youth ages twelve to nineteen using Solution-Focused Therapy, life skills training, and Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT). While in graduate school, she worked implementing Applied Behavioral Analysis (ABA) programs with children age 18 months to 12 years. After receiving her Master’s Degree in Counseling, she began working at Every Child’s Hope in their Intensive In-home Program Family Solutions for Kids. At the same time, she has taken the role as Lead Therapist at LoveU2Pieces writing the program for their Social Connections social skills groups.
While she has a passion for working with those that need social skills training as well as parent-coaching, she enjoys working with young adults who struggle with anxiety, depression, and goal-setting for success and happiness. She also sees clients who have experienced trauma, and is trained in EMDR which is used to treat psychological stress. Colleen’s experience in schools, in-home, and groups make her a well-rounded therapist that can find the right treatment for your child and family.
