Amy Donovan is a Provisional Licensed Professional Counselor (PLPC) who works with teens and adults struggling with anxiety, OCD, life transitions, and all the messy in-between moments that leave people feeling stuck or overwhelmed.

Her approach is straightforward, compassionate, and real. Amy specializes in helping clients who feel like their minds never stop—those caught in endless loops of worry, “what-ifs,” and second-guessing. Whether it’s a teen navigating school, social stress, or big feelings, or an adult juggling relationships, parenting, career chaos, or burnout, Amy knows what it’s like to carry that invisible pressure. She’s here to walk alongside her clients on the path to feeling more grounded, more confident, and more themselves.

Amy uses Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), Inference-Based CBT (I-CBT), Motivational Interviewing, and elements of DBT to tailor therapy to each person’s unique needs. She helps clients make sense of what’s going on inside their brains and teaches practical, research-backed tools to manage discomfort and build real confidence. Her goal is to help people move from simply surviving to truly thriving—without sugarcoating the hard stuff, but also without letting it define them.

Before becoming a therapist, Amy worked in corporate communications, where she experienced firsthand the toll of stress, perfectionism, and imposter syndrome. She’s also a mom of two, so she gets the rollercoaster of parenting, family dynamics, and what it’s like to support everyone else while trying to hold yourself together.

When she’s not in the therapy room, you can find Amy cheering on the sidelines at her kids’ games or performances, sipping an iced Diet Coke, laughing at her own jokes, or adding unnecessary items to her online shopping cart. She’s here to help teens and adults feel more steady, more capable, and more at peace in their own minds.

Amy accepts Aetna & Cigna insurance plans.

Amy is supervised by Josh Dunn, MA, Licensed Professional Counselor MO #2019024985 who can be reached at josh@mindfulstl.com and will be overseeing care for all of Amy’s clients.
