Gurleen is a graduate student of Clinical Psychology at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville and a clinician in training. She received her Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from University of North Texas. Her clinical experience includes working with children with an Autism Spectrum Disorder diagnosis in an Applied Behavior Analysis setting to manage behaviors, foster fulfilling social relationships and work on communication skills. Her clinical interests include culturally-informed care, trauma and anxiety disorders, and depression. She believes in advocating for one’s mental health needs and overcoming challenges with various coping skills to create a fulfilling and satisfying life.

Gurleen approaches therapy as a collaborative time with her clients and highly values client input to guide the course of therapy in addition to following research in the field and evidence-based practices. She uses an eclectic therapy approach by incorporating multiple therapy modalities to best fit the presenting concerns and client preferences. Her main modalities used include CBT, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), mindfulness, humanistic principles and person-centered therapy.

Outside of work, Gurleen enjoys reading, watching movies, running and spending time with loved ones.

As an intern, Gurleen is able to offer services at a discounted rate of $55/session. Gurleen is supervised by Josh Dunn, LPC who can be reached at josh@mindfulstl.com and will be overseeing care for all of Gurleen’s clients.
