M.Ed., PLPC
Amy Donovan (she/her) is a Provisional Licensed Professional Counselor (PLPC) who earned her Master’s Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of Missouri-St. Louis. Amy specializes in treating anxiety, depression, and life transitions, focusing on supporting teens and adults as they learn to navigate issues related to identity, self-worth, relationships, OCD, and emotional well-being.
Amy recognizes that adolescence comes with its own set of challenges, including facing social challenges, balancing family dynamics, managing academic and athletic pressures, and exploring personal identity. She creates a supportive and compassionate space where teens can better understand themselves, develop healthy coping strategies, and build lasting confidence.
Amy works with adults struggling with life, relationships, parenting, burnout, or self-esteem. Amy creates a nonjudgmental, collaborative space where clients can explore the root of their struggles, build skills to manage intense emotions, and foster personal growth—empowering them to build resilience and manage life’s challenges with confidence.
Amy is trained in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Person-Centered Therapy, and Motivational Interviewing. She also incorporates Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and Solution-Focused techniques to help clients manage distress, regulate emotions, and improve interpersonal skills.
Before becoming a therapist, Amy worked in corporate communications, gaining firsthand experience with managing stress, balancing career demands, and navigating personal transitions. As a mother of two, she understands the complexities of parenting, family dynamics, and the emotional challenges teens and adults face today. When Amy is not supporting clients, she’s cheering from the sidelines at her kids’ sports games, band competitions, and other adventures—preferably with an ice-cold diet soda in hand.
Amy accepts Aetna & Cigna insurance plans.
Amy is supervised by Josh Dunn, MA, Licensed Professional Counselor MO #2019024985 who can be reached at josh@mindfulstl.com and will be overseeing care for all of Amy’s clients.
