MA, PLPC
Kelsey is a Provisionally Licensed Professional Counselor (PLPC) who trained as a Cognitive Behavioral Therapist (CBT). She received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Exercise Science from Valparaiso University. Kelsey attained a dual Masters of Psychology Degree in Social Psychology and Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Walden University. Kelsey believes a dynamic and multifaceted approach empowers clients to overcome adversity, achieve their life and mental health goals, and regain a sense of autonomy. She believes everyone, regardless of circumstance, is capable of positive behavioral change and accomplishing their goals when their desire for change is greater than their desire to stay the same. She specializes in couples/relationships, adults with ADHD, anxiety, depression, and survivors of trauma.
She believes the most effective way in building a strong therapeutic alliance is to provide a genuine, safe, non-judgmental, and empathetic space for clients to feel seen and heard; to know they are not alone. Kelsey embraces an eclectic approach to therapy incorporating multiple therapeutic techniques including Adlerian Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Rational Emotive Behavioral Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, TF-CBT, Solution-Focused Therapy, and Mindfulness. Prior to joining The Center for Mindfulness & CBT, Kelsey was an intern at Diversified Health and Wellness Center in Kirkwood, a non-profit counseling organization working with individuals, couples, and families from low socioeconomic areas. Kelsey is able to accept Cigna and Aetna insurances.
Kelsey is supervised by Amanda Fondow, MA, LPC, R-DMT MO #2016031517 who can be reached at amanda@mindfulstl.com and will be overseeing care for all of Kelsey’s clients.
