I recommend the free app “Stop, Breathe & Think” to all of my clients for several reasons.
- It’s free! Who doesn’t love a free app?
- The app asks you to pick from the following options: “great, good, meh, poor, or rough” to describe both your physical and mental state.
- The app then assesses your emotional state by asking you to select 5 emotions from a wide selection of feelings (such as fulfilled, non-judgmental, panicked, lonely, irritated, etc.).
- Then, based on your selection from the previous evaluations it recommends some meditations that you might find helpful (and they’re no more than 5 minutes, so it’s great for people who feel they don’t have time to meditate).
- You choose whether you want to listen to the meditation in a male or female voice.
- You get rewards for using the app!
