Ana is a Clinical Psychology graduate student at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville. She received her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology with a chemistry minor from Southern Illinois University Edwardsville. Presently, Ana is a practicum student (under the supervision of Dr. Laura Chackes, Psy. D) with a passion for working with diverse populations. Her post-undergraduate experience includes working with communities in both the United States and India, providing mental health services to individuals from a variety of cultural backgrounds. Ana is dedicated to creating a safe and welcoming space for all clients, including those who have suffered trauma, identify as LGBTQ+, and are members of diverse minority groups. She recognizes that these individuals may face unique challenges and barriers when seeking mental health services and strives to provide a supportive and non-judgmental environment where clients can explore their emotions and work toward healing.
During her graduate education, Ana has developed a strong foundation in evidence-based therapy techniques, including Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and Mindfulness-Based Interventions. Ana specializes in treating adults struggling with anxiety, OCD, depression and/or trauma. Ana’s approach to therapy is collaborative and tailored to the unique needs of each client. She believes in working together with clients to identify their goals and develop treatment plans that are evidence-based and grounded in the client’s strengths and values. Ana is passionate about helping individuals achieve positive change in their lives. She strongly believes in the power of collaboration and integrating mindfulness and other holistic approaches into her work with clients to promote overall wellness and self-care.
