Andrea is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over twenty years of experience in mental health. She received her Master’s degree from Saint Louis University in 2000 after completing her undergraduate degree in Psychology from the University of New Mexico in 1998. Andrea has worked exclusively with adults throughout her career in several different therapeutic settings. She has provided individual therapy to people who have challenges related to anxiety, trauma, grief and loss, depression, life transitions, and relationship issues. She has provided community-based grief and bereavement support in hospice programs, as well as mental health assessment and counseling in a hospital environment at the Mayo Clinic. Andrea also has experience supervising social workers who are working toward full licensure and has experience facilitating support groups particularly in the areas of grief and loss.

Andrea utilizes a multi-faceted, holistic, evidenced based approach to therapy that is individualized to each person based upon the person’s presenting challenges, comfort level with therapy, and whether a person is looking for a briefer, solution-focused approach or a deeper dive into addressing possible roots of issues including inner-child work, parts work, or EMDR therapy. Whichever the approach or duration of therapy, Andrea believes in the fundamental power of a person feeling safe, nurtured, and validated throughout the counseling process and the alliance being a precursor to real long-lasting growth and change. Andrea is able to accept UHC, Aetna, Cigna and Medicare insurance plans.
