Caitlin is a Provisionally Licensed Professional Counselor (PLPC) who earned her Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at the University of Missouri-St. Louis (UMSL). At UMSL, she also completed a Graduate Certificate in Multicultural and Social Justice Counseling. Caitlin earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from Truman State University and completed a minor in Disability Studies. Additional qualifications include training in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), with an emphasis in mindfulness, and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) Therapy. She specializes in working with those who have experienced grief and loss, gender and sexual identity exploration, anxiety, trauma, and OCD.
Caitlin strives to acknowledge the whole person and their intersecting identities to provide authentic care. Caitlin primarily works with adults (18 and up) experiencing life transitions, relationship challenges, gender and sexual identity struggles, anxiety disorders, mood disorders, grief, trauma, and posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD). Caitlin aspires to continue therapeutic work with all populations, namely individuals of the LGBTQIA2S+ community, aging adults, veterans, family members of veterans, survivors of sexual trauma, and survivors of intimate partner violence (IPV). She has completed suicide prevention and Safe Zone trainings and continues to explore how to create inclusive spaces in order to foster healing. It is Caitlin’s belief that therapy is a journey in which the counselor is present to empower individuals to find their voice. She aims to create therapeutic relationships which aid clients toward processing and ultimately healing. Caitlin works to cater interventions to clients’ needs all while maintaining a collaborative environment throughout the therapeutic process. Caitlin looks forward to welcoming anyone ready to start their healing journey! Caitlin accepts Aetna & Cigna insurance plans.
