M.Ed., PLPC
Aisha Khorana is a Provisionally Licensed Professional Counselor (PLPC) and a fourth-year Ph.D. student in Counselor Education and Supervision at the University of Missouri–St. Louis. She completed her M.Ed. in K-12 School Counseling at the University of Missouri–Columbia and her B.A. in Psychology at Truman State University, with minors in Child Studies, Disability Studies, and English. She is a certified school counselor, with experience at the K-12 level.
Aisha works with children, adolescents, and adults (ages 5+), specializing in concerns related to anxiety, depression, self-confidence, self-esteem, body image, eating disorders, and bicultural identity. Her approach to therapy is collaborative and individualized, integrating elements of Relational-Cultural Theory (RCT) and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), grounded in a trauma-informed, person-centered approach. She utilizes expressive arts and experiential techniques as well. This combination of modalities allows space for connection and deeper exploration of experiences and cultural contexts that have shaped the client.
Aisha believes that healing happens in community through being witnessed and supported. She values providing clients with a safe, nonjudgmental space to explore the parts of themselves they often keep hidden and to feel supported as they work toward greater self-understanding, confidence, and well-being. Her goal is to help clients slow down, reflect, and make sense of what might be happening beneath the surface. Through increased awareness and intentional intervention, therapy can become a space for healing, growth, and empowerment.
Aisha is supervised by Laura Chackes, Psy.D., Licensed Psychologist MO #2006027463, who can be reached at lchackes@mindfulstl.com and will be overseeing care for all of Aisha’s clients.
