Jess is a Counselor in Training working with adults and older teens experiencing OCD, trauma, anxiety, and those navigating life transitions. Her path into the mental health field began with a passion for trauma work. Over time, she found herself increasingly drawn to OCD, eventually becoming trained in both ERP and I-CBT. She has seen ERP’s effectiveness firsthand, and also recognizes that it isn’t the right fit for everyone. For clients who feel stuck or are looking for a different path forward, I-CBT offers a gradual, compassionate alternative.
Jess believes that feeling truly understood is itself part of the healing process. She takes time to listen carefully and to sit with each client’s experience. Her approach is warm, collaborative, and deeply person-centered. Her foundation is humanistic: she believes in meeting clients with unconditional acceptance and creating a space where they can show up fully and honestly, without judgment. She sees her role as a steady advocate, someone fully in her clients’ corner as they take their first steps forward.
Jess sees adults and older teens (16+) during her individual therapy sessions. She accepts most Cigna and Aetna insurance plans. She is supervised by Laura Chackes, Psy.D., Licensed Psychologist MO #2006027463, who can be reached at lchackes@mindfulstl.com and will be overseeing care for all of Jess’s clients.
