Margaret Quiring is a dedicated Licensed Clinical Social Worker who brings a compassionate, person-centered approach to providing therapy to teens and adults. She believes in meeting each client where they are and working collaboratively toward meaningful change and sustainable wellbeing. Margaret takes an emotion-focused and trauma-informed approach to therapy. She is experienced in mindful self-compassion and cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), integrating exposure and response prevention (ERP) and DBT skills training into her practice.
Before coming to the Center for Mindfulness and CBT, Margaret worked with patients at the outpatient, intensive outpatient, and partial hospitalization levels at SLBMI’s center for OCD and Anxiety-Related Disorders (COARD). She has counseling experience in higher-education environments, having completed her Practicum in the UMSL Counseling Services department and working as a graduate student advisor in the Washington University Career Center.
Margaret earned her Master’s in Social Work (MSW) with a clinical focus from the Brown School at Washington University in St. Louis. Her comprehensive training combines theoretical knowledge with hands-on clinical experience. Margaret’s diverse background in clinical practice, career coaching, and teaching provides her with a well-rounded perspective on mental health and human development, especially for individuals experiencing life changes and new chapters. She is especially interested in working with students, professionals, those struggling with multiple mental health concerns, and members of the LGBTQ+ community.
Margaret sees adults and older teens (12+) during her individual therapy sessions. She is currently seeing patients at the self-pay rate of $140/session. Margaret is currently in network with most Anthem/BCBS, UHC/Optum, Aetna, and Cigna insurance plans.
