Marla is a Licensed Professional Counselor, LPC at The Center of Mindfulness & CBT and provides community outreach working with small groups of elementary students. She has a diverse background working with children, adolescents, and adults who struggle with adjustment concerns, anxiety, stress, burnout, depression, self-esteem, grief, women issues, and trauma.  Prior to joining the center, Marla was in the education field for over twenty years before shifting her career into a Clinical Mental Health Therapist. 

Marla believes that showing up for yourself is the first step in the healing process.  You are not alone.  Her goal is to provide a safe, nurturing space to establish a therapeutic relationship that is built on trust, compassion, acceptance, and understanding.  She aims to walk alongside you and provide a strong support system as you face adversity and need guidance navigating through your personal struggles.  Marla embraces an eclectic approach to therapy incorporating multiple therapeutic techniques including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT),  Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT), Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), Strength-Based Therapy, Somatic Healing techniques, as well as, play and art techniques. Her treatment philosophy is geared towards attaining balance as an integral aspect of the therapeutic process where you are armed with tools to make healthy, lasting changes for your overall well-being.  Marla’s multi-faceted approach is holistic and person-centered focusing on aligning the mind, body, and spirit to cultivate self-love, self-compassion, and self-trust. Empowering you to live life on purpose, with intention, and wholeheartedly.
