Sam is a Counselor in Training (CIT) working under the supervision of Andrew Jovanovic, M.A., LPC. In May of 2026 he graduated from the University of Missouri – St. Louis with a Master’s Degree in clinical mental health counseling. Sam’s background in mental health work has spanned years, creating a strong and enduring passion for supporting those in their mental health journeys. His experience in mental health fields eventually led him to develop a strong interest in working with those who have experienced OCD and trauma. Sam’s approach to therapy focuses on client goals as the primary marker of progress, emphasizing collaboration and feedback to personalize the therapy according to client needs.

Sam uses a blended approach to therapy, utilizing CBT as his primary modality while also incorporating approaches from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) as well as Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP). Sam sees adults and older teens (16+) during individual therapy sessions.

As a CIT, Sam is able to offer services at a discounted rate. Sam is supervised by Andrew Jovanovic, M.A., Licensed Professional Counselor MO #2016040637 who can be reached at andrewj@mindfulstl.com and will be overseeing care for all of Sam’s clients.”
